Sounds daft but the inside of my bottom lips really stings whenever I eat or drink - anything fizzy is really painful especially. Even brushing my teeth - if the toothpaste touches the inside of my lip it stings like mad. There is absolutely nothing there to see but if I rub it with my finger it also hurts. Has been like it for a couple of weeks - any ideas??

Have you eaten spicy crisps or punjabi mix? Salt water rinse sorts it for me.
Chapped lips...I'm afraid you'll have to give up snogging ;-)
If it was your tongue smowball, I'd share the problem with you! lol
Burning lip syndrome, look it up as there are loads of sites. Pure aloe vera gel applied regularly is a good treatment according to the articles.

Tip of tongue is actually very very sensitive actually - salt n vinegar crisps send me thru the roof!
If your mouth generally feels a bit odd, it could be thrush (candida), I've just got rid of it. Have you been on antibiotics lately? Inside of lip will be red, as will tip of tongue - pickled onion can send you up the wall! If it is, you need a mouth rinse from the doc's (but live yoghurt helps).
There's no chance you've chipped one of your bottom teeth? Even the slightest change in tooth shape can rub the lip/tongue/cheek raw for a while.
\\\ There is absolutely nothing there to see \\

i.e no ulcers, no trauma, no infection.
You need to suck on something;-)
carrust....LOL.
I'm speaking to a kindred spirit in you sqad:-)
Peel and slice a cucumber and apply to the affected area.
Lay off the nettle wine for a while.
