Quite a fair balance between Page 3 fans and women at work who all have half naked Firemen calenders adorning their desks! Spot the difference?
Compared with the Daily Sport the Sun ranks alongside the Times!
The Times was the first paper to have a page 3 girl. Might have been Jilly Johnson?
We have a new(ish) bar called Dirty Blonde, where we go for cocktails (half price until 8.00, Wooo!)

It's next door to Platinum Lace, the lap dancing place.

All the girls from Platinum Lace come into Dirty Blonde before they go to work. They are really nice girls. Fun, chatty, and friendly.

Then they go next door and get paid for spending the rest of the night naked.

Guys will always pay to look at women without their clothes on. It's just a fact of life. It's not going to change.

And, frankly, what harm is it doing.
booldawg -the difference is obvious -girls buy the calendars to see half-naked firemen. People buy the Sun, I presume, because they want to read a newspaper. I f they just wanted to stare at boobs they could buy a mens magazine.
joggerjane -I see no relevance in your remark that girls who lapdance are 'nice and chatty' -What has that got to do with women showing off their breasts in The Sun newspaper? I'm sure strippers and prostitutes are nice chatty and fun -but not exactly a good role model for young women. Study hard at school/university get a decent job - or flash your t*ts in a bar for a living -Mmmmm hard choice that one.
But its a choice and they are doing no harm.
mr murdoch is very astute to realise that men won't abandon his paper just because there are aren't any bare breasts in it any more

I understand your point, retro.

But there are a lots of girls who are simply not nice. Girls whom you wouldn't want to drink in any place where you were with your friends.

I don't think you should necessarily judge people by whether or not they are "role models". It's too hard to say what a role model is.

Would you want a child to emulate a rich pop star like Cheryl Cole (who punched a lavatory attendant in the face), or a famous footballer like Stephen Gerrard (who punched some poor guy in a night club), or England captain John Terry (who thinks its okay to have sex with his friend's wife), or Ashley Cole (who sent photos of his privates to some girl when he was still married), or perhaps a Member of Parliament (dishonestly cheating on your expenses), or any number of girls whose only ambition as regards "making a living" is to have sex, have children, and hope that you and I keep paying enough taxes to pay for their cigarettes?

They may not be university professors, but a lot of these topless girls are nice girls, who work hard, and don't expect the "system" to look after them.

There's good in everybody. They are just normal girls, with slightly unusual jobs.
