Hi,

Does anyone know if the Proton Beem Therapy can be used on this sort of brain tumor? Or do they have to go for the conventional surgery and Chemo etc.

Thanks

In a nutshell.....yes, gliomas (of which there are many types, but all malignant) do respond to PBT.

It depends upon the site of the tumour as to which method is used..PBT or conventional DXT.

Whichever is chosen........chemo will almost certainly be needed.
There are many different types of glioma, so it depends on the precise diagnosis.
Proton beam therapy is used in some low grade gliomas and optic pathway gliomas - tumours along the optic nerve.
