Any recommendations for a good, fairly simple, free, photo imaging programme ?

I'm on Windows 7 and have Office.

Cheers.

I've seen Gimp and Irfanview praised, but I've not tried them myself
If you don't mind an online one which is super simple but quite versatile try

"Not too difficult" rules out the mighty GIMP. (It's fantastic but it's got a massive learning curve).

So that really leaves Irfanview, Picasa and Serif PhotoPlus SE.

Irfanview is a brilliant image-viewing program, which also has of image-manipulation options. However they tend to be hidden away in its menus, making it less intuitive to use than it could be.

Picasa (from Google) is extremely popular but I try to avoid anything which insists that I create a Google account, so I've no personal experience of it.

So here's what I'd recommend:

You could also try the excellent Faststone image viewer

You can do simple adjustments (and a lot more besides) etc. with this brilliant free program.
I used to use paint.net, simple yet pretty powerful.

Gimp, you don't have to learn it all at once and it will prepare you for photoshop should you wish to go further..
