There has been 2 or 3 in recent years, so I would think it's purely a personal choice by the captain. That doesn't mean there won't be any number of other experienced people in the back room staff.

Well Faldo made the mistake of only having one. You should have as many as it takes to follow each match which is 4 on the Friday and Saturday. Just think Mcginley should have learned something from playing under Torrance, langer and woosnam who all had plenty.

Well, on the last day there twelve singles matches so, if you'd want a Vice- Captain or Captain with every match, you'd say there should be eleven but that would be ridiculous.

Two Vice Captains is as good as any other number as far as I can see!

2 seems ok. Sometimes you can over-manage these things and despite encouragement some guys just like to be left alone to get on with it, they get enough from the crowd, particularly on home soil.
