What as appalled me on the Rotherham scandal is that today on TV a girl was interviewed. She was a rape victim of the Rotherham gangs, she said that she still recognises many of the people who raped her free and walking the streets of Rotherham today. That has to be addressed and soon!
Did she report it to the police Eddie? Even then, was she believed??
So what is the answer db? A curfew on all the girls. Certainly stricter supervision. Not all of them are in homes, some become trapped by merely having friends who have already been groomed by those men. Having lax parenting, or the typical teenage revolt against parents, in fact just being naive young girls finding their way in life. Why can't they be just that, but instead they have to battle with foreign gangs of paedos taking advantage of their naievety (sp?).
Vulnerable youngsters need maximum protection with robust multi-agency meetings sharing all the available information and acting decisively and without fear of racism.
all of these young people had one thing in common.........vulnerability. plus no one to confide in. and worse of all, the authorities who were responsible for their wellbeing letting them down enormously, shame on the authorities who did not help them . I hope they sleep well in their beds and enjoy spending their salaries, and most of all I hope they know where their children are 24/7.
Agree ag, goodnight.

Looks like it was discussed in the mosques and within the Pakistani community, yet still NOTHING was done:

Oh for a secular society!
'Privately trying to resolve the problem' - makes you wonder what was being said and what plan of action there was....
A victim of one of these gangs and her mother were interviewed on This Morning. They lived a perfectly normal and happy life until she was groomed. That's what grooming is about...
Just what planet are you on Mickey?

Did someone steal your Teddy bear when you were young or something?
Naomi - All I can say in response to your question that it is simply untrue.
Keyplus - so why do you think that the Muslim leader in the link that Naomi provided say what he did?
Why do you ask me about what he said? Ask him. All I know that what he is saying is his own opinion.
Keyplus, I just wondered what your thoughts were to the comments made in the link. No problem.
It is so hard to believe that Rotherham knew about this and allowed it to happen. No-one would seriously allow it without investigation, the race card should be well and truly torn up when groups of men target children in this way. They must be laughing in their curry. The whole Department involved in the Children's care service should be sacked, including the Police Crime Commissioner who has the gall to refuse any responsibility for it. I know he was elected by the people, what a cop out -Theresa May says she hasn't the powers to sack him. But we elected him, can we?
