Baldric, I think you just need to be in control, so that's a normal reaction for someone like you X

Thanks Sibs,
All went ok, it was an Electromyography (EMG) apparently, more wires than the National Grid! They got good readings and told me my left arm is worse than right, that was no surprise as I'd put it on the questionnaire they gave me beforehand.
He did say it's not that bad at the moment, we can fix it, hope he's right.
What will the treatment involve, do you know yet?

The one I saw last week is organising the Sheepskin Splints which will stop me bending my arms in bed, think that will be a bit selective on my part, todays Consultant said they need to analyse the test reports from today and will contact me, bottom line is a Small Op. on the Elbow(s) if all else fails, so we shall see.
I have this picture of you crawling on knees and elbows with a rifle in your hand. I do hope you get sorted out xxx

I wondered where that picture had gone! ;-)
Yep, did a bit of that in the past, more finger tips, belly and toecaps at times.
Maybe a legacy from the RTC that finished my stint in the RMs, few tests to go yet. Just got a couple of annoying things going on atm, not ill at all, just maintenance to be sorted.
How bad was the RTC and were you compensated, but obviously not enough?

Waiting to turn right onto a Dual carriageway, got hit from behind by a 7½ tonner, driver said his foot slipped, anyway I shot forward to play with the traffic on the DC. Luckily I was wearing a seatbelt, car rolled a time or three (I'm told) and was hit by three more. Consultant said if I been a less fit/strong person I wouldn't have come out of it. a spell in Hospital, back to Physios at Base, then back to Civvy street. Compo is never enough, but it did start the property portfolio off quite nicely, (6 Rentals now + Moonraker which is Home). If all I'm left with after that is a stiff neck and tingling fingers, I can live with it.
(If you're in touch with Alba or Minty, they have a Throwaway for me)

Got me thinking, I just had a look on Bing Maps, It's a large roundabout now, no more pulling across to central reservation and waiting again!
That must have been terrifying. Early June daughter and boyfriend were hit by a lorry moving into their inside lane, looking at the pictures afterwards, it's amazing they were able to walk away. It hit the car and pushed it into the front of the lorry. Ambulance and police were on the motorway too and it was all sorted out very quickly. The car was written off

Back to Ashford on 18th
Have dodgy elbows,
see Kent!
Question Author

Was discharged from that Dept. yesterday, being referred on to the dept. who will decide if I'm going to need an Op. on left elbow (right ok for the moment) to reroute Ulna Nerve, although I did think that's who I was already seeing.
I did point out to him that I get the final word on that, not them, so let's see what they say. (in about 2 weeks time)

Had an appointment come through about 2½ wks ago for the Orthotic Depart in Margate for Oct 14th.
I arrived early bearing my CG Appointment letter saying Oct 14th @ 14:10, and reported to reception, who duly checked their handwritten appointments list and informed me I was a day early and I should come back today, 15th.
Margate is about a 36 mile round trip, which is no big deal however the lack of competence is.
They have been informed they can position their appointment where the Sun don't shine, I'm walking away from it, I'll deal with whatever happens, I've wasted enough time and effort on these idiots.
Gad,that is beyond belief, take care x
I typed GAWD, but please don't give up, please complain, a strongly worded letter to the specialist with a copy of your letter.

meeting yesterday, have been convinced to see a man at Kings re. a possible op. because they say the deterioration can be stopped by an op. but not improved, it will stay at that stage, convincing argument I think.
we will see.
Good luck, Baldric x
Question Author

Thank you Sibs. Consultant rang me on Monday and asked me to go see him, had all the info there, said it's nothing to do with old RTC, all to do with nerves trapped at elbows, left first then right if req'd.
Nothing to lose by going to Kings for a chat.
How did your appointment go today?
Question Author

I didn't want too many details in GMEB thread. it was for the Op. from a while back that did not solve a problem (not elbows) still waiting for call from GP. Thanks for asking.
Thanks, Baldric. I hope they get to the bottom of it x
