A Whim In The Sea

So yesterday, I had a swim in the sea. Just on a whim.

In my head, I was going to be like Ursula Andress (Dr No) or Halle Berry (Die Another Day). But with cold water, and pebbles.

As it turned out, the only other people in the sea were the local pensioners, some of whom had tight rubber things on their heads. There must be some sort of "sea dipping" club.

I know Sussex is not exactly glamorous ... it's not Jamaica. But ... Has swimming in the sea lost its appeal to younger people? Has it been replaced by "standing on the beach and staring at your iPhone"? We live on an island. We are surrounded by sea.

Then I went to the shopping centre. I must've been really, really bored to do that.

Desperation!

Hopefully some of you are having better weeks.

Jayne- this is the sea I was blobbing about in a few weeks ago.

Believe you me on a boiling hot day it's pure bliss :-)
The bracing sea breeze brought tears to my eyes and I felt honour bound to resist the urge to dance like a cat on a hot tin room over the uneven pebbles towards the grey and ominous swell...
I used to love to watch the ladies wading in the sea with the tide gently lifting the boobs as it came in & out, happy days lol.

Wow B00, that looks lovely.
it is Jayne, it's what pulls us back there every year.
I love swimming in the sea, but only abroad where it is nice and hot.

Interestingly, I had no problem weeing in the sea as a child, but as an adult I am completely unable to. Interesting.
BOO
Beautiful beach but there's no one on it. Might you have scared them off with your impression of a Great White Shark?
> I like to pee in the sea

As my old English teacher used to say (about words like "psychology" and "pteranodon") ... "Silent pee as in seabathing"

As the waves approached, I skipped lightly over the water, only to stumble in an ungainly manner, scuffing my toe, and flapping wildly to avoid falling backwards under the water.
Oi Alice!

*marks Alice down in THE book......

That photo was probably taken in March or something, lol. Looks deceptively hot but I bet it wasn't that day. It's usually more packed with that, surfers etc.

Not sure if I should admit whether or not I wee in the sea.
BOO

When you look at the photo, all you can see are the footprints as everyone did a runner!
I'm already in mrs-o's book of offenders, yours might be a bit more exclusive ☺☺☺

Still a great beach though.

In answer to JJs question, no I do not swim in the UK sea's because it's too bloody cold. I've been spoilt by Mediterranean and some Asia Pacific seas

The led singer of Tight Fit died ... because he couldn't Swhim Away

Piccys or it didnt happen....
For several years I used to go swimming on Porthmeor beach at St Ives. Great fun as the surf used to drag your bikini bottoms off.
I have also been skinny dipping in Bridlington, but not in winter, and have done the naughties in the sea at Filey..........
