We live in Scotland. My daughter left school with 3 Highers. She did a variety of jobs and then went back to College. In the first year she gained an HNC Intermediate 2 Care and 2nd year she gained an HNC Social Care, both A passes. She has now worked for a few years and has decided she would like to go back to her original career choice of Primary teaching. We have both looked at various sites - including UCAS but can't seem to find out if she would be entitled to enter at 2nd year which would help enormously financially. Can anyone point us to a website that would help us please. I should add that she has been working for Women's Aid, mainly on the children's side of things, i.e. counselling, giving talks in schools, etc. Many thanks.

While I can't give you a definitive answer I would very much doubt that it's possible to skip a year of teacher training, simply because there would almost certainly be at least half a term (or possibly a full term) of teaching practice during that year. Missing it out would mean that a student would not have sufficient 'at the chalkface' training to qualify.

Further, the care qualifications she has already achieved would presumably not include any study of subjects like developmental psychology, which are essential in teacher training.
