Anyone living in the South know what happened to Gamble the civil engineer/ lorry firm in Sussex? Everything is now M J CHURCH. My parents bought a house in Worthing and sold off half the garden in late 60s and old Mr Gamble had a JCB and flattened the garden. The next I heard his sons continued the firm and it became very big then disappeared. Bramley.

It has probably morphed into Gamble Jarvis Plant Ltd, based in Worthing.
Possibly not, BM, because Gamble Jarvis Plant Limited was, from its founding in 1971 through to 1986, previously known as T N S Plant Group Limited.

M J Church (Plant) Ltd was registered with Companies House in 1984. Perhaps that company simply bought out the assets of Gamble's? It seems that the old firm was never registered as 'Gamble Ltd', 'Gamble (Plant) Ltd' or anything similar because, although such names have been registered at Companies House, the dates and trading activities don't see to fit.

Perhaps you might have more luck searching though, Bramleyboy:
