Slow Cooker Recipes - Convince Me

What is your perfect recipe to convince me that slow cookers are all they're cracked up to be.

I have one in its box that has been staring me out for a few months and as the mercury falls I'm more inclined to give it a punt.....

I don't have one, but my cooker has a slow cook setting. I must try it.

I got thrown off an American medical forum once for being a bit..er..forthright, but a slow cooker one, well, I'm intrigued ;)

Me too ..I cannot wait for the next instalement please.? Why ?? BUt while I am writing on here can I ask about the chicken....do you put a whole chicken in the slow cooker and jjust a drizzle of oil..thats it? and for how many hours? I like my chicken really cooked well.

Yes, lilacben. That's it. I usually do it for about eight hours. It is really well done, when done. It virtually falls apart. Try it. Lovely, moist chicken.

"Before I give it to the recycling folk" You could get rid of it via Freecycle. I expect there would be someone who would gladly take it off your hands

I've used mine once.

I think they are handy for people at work all day. Bung everything in the night before and turn it on in the morning before work.

used mine in the camper van a lot and still do. going out for the day and not eating out in the evening - just put things in the slow cooker and it's done when needed. seems good to me. also use it when I want to do something else other than kitchen things during the day.

As the weather is so miserable I decided to have a day in the kitchen.

I took slow cooker out of the box looked at it, put it back in the box and it is now off to the Councils electrical recycling centre where they PAT test and then Freegle/sell small electrical goods.....except standard lamps for some bizarre reason!
