Good. I don't have a problem with that.
Me too, if we are seen to be a soft touch and staffing problems, well let's get someone in that can do the job. You csn't compromise on safety..
We often work alongside the Americans in lots of situations. I will now feel safer when I travel.
Are they bringing their own horses?
do they know where Lunar House is and how to give directions to it?
I think it's fairly pointless however the Americans do like to be seen as doing something when one of their own becomes a victim so it's not entirely surprising this is happening. It ill be spun back hoe that the FBI are coming over here to sort out us bungling Brits because a British person is alleged to have beheaded their journalist. I think we are more than capable of dealing with this on our own, but given that the Americans had the chance for a prisoner exchange in relation to this horrible event they will be seeking to divert attention away from that and onto us and drop the blame in our laps so they're sending their lads over the save the world because we are so inept we can't watch our own airports.
Can't we? I think we can and no I won't feel safer flying knowing the FBI are drinking coffee in Heathrow, lets do something ourselves and deal with this situation once and for all.
The Government would be cutting it's nose off to spite its face if it didn't use the expertise and techniques that are 'tried and tested'.

Is there a dark side of Lunar house?
If it makes it safer for us, then I am all for it.

On a similar subject, I met an official from the Welsh Assembly this week and he told me that 1500 people are accompanying Obama, when he arrives for the NATO summit next month. Seems a tad over the top to me.

I agree a 1500 Gospel Choir is a tad over the top to accompanied Obama, didn't know he could sing anyway.
Great, so long as the traitors go to Guantano jail followed by the US hot seat.
Great news. Be a real shame too if some of the more prominent jihadists fall foul of a bit of extraordinary rendition and have to face a US court, where they'll get proper sentences.
Is the FBI "helping out" at other European airports or is it just the Brits they don't trust?
A thoroughly sensible idea IMHO. The more expertise and assistance we can get the better. And what better assistance could we want than the FBI.
its too late now to do much about it, we are bed fellows. The UK is spineless and always will be. such as the animals who killed Lee Rigby, why have they not been given the death penalty ?? unless the powerful forces unite and wipe this out we shall never be rid. We should have left well enough alone to begin with, then there may not be as much hatred towards UK as there is now, and it will only get worse, while the powers that be have their macho sounding group meetings, Cobra etc, nonsense. The UK/US "intelligence" services are not clever enough to eradicate these groupr, look at the state of Afghanistan and Iraq, and that is after we invaded and sorted the places out.....
@ mcnal71

How is the UK spineless?

Rigby's killers were not given the death penalty because the option didn't exist.

You use phrases like 'unite' and 'powerful forces' - isn't this a uniting and the UK benefitting from the expertise of a 'powerful force' such as the US?

What do you suggest because there is no quick fix here or a brilliant military strategy that can deal with the terrorists but, collectively, not just the UK/US, nations must do whatever is possible to keep their people safe.
