Silly problem but one corner of our large dining room rug turns up. Have put heavy weights on it without success. Any more suggestions??

Can't vouch for upturned rug corners, but it works 100% for rugs travelling over carpet.
Try folding the offending corner under and weigh it down overnight?

Thanks to all but have tried those suggestions without success.
Hi, If your carpet base is thick enough try cutting a 9 inch length from a wire coat hanger and thread it through the base from the very corner of the carpet in towards the centre.
Alternatively, stitch the length of wire to the corner of the carpet and cover with some sticky tape to stop the wire scratching the floor.
Hope this helps to keep the corner down.
Could you tack it down with a carpet tack which has a broad head.

Alternatively use a largish "stud" with the male attached to the underside of the carpet and the female fixed to the floor. Nothing would be showing, which would be preferable to my first suggestion.
I had trouble getting a large rug to relax and lay flat.

Some of the advice I received suggested steaming it. Perhaps you could use your iron to steam the underside and then try folding it back on itself and weigh it down.
