Seems these days it is more criminal to send 'sexist, racist and homophobic' text messages than being caught dodgy dealings over transfers.

That's Mackay and Moody kissing goodbye to their careers - the revenge of Vincent Tan is awesome!
Glad to see you have made a couple of new friends AOG :-)
"controversial transfers" are of no great interest to anyone but football clubs and fans. Anti-semitism (and racism generally) is of much wider interest. Yes, it's more criminal.

These were harmless private messages between two people, no one was hurt and would not have been found out if their homes had not been raided and their phones and computers confiscated over a completely different matter..

it's being handled privately, by the FA. But I fear they won't want to be seen as running a sport that employs homophobic racists. It's quite unwise to send messages about "Fkn ch*nkys" when your boss is Mr Vincent Tan.
/These were harmless private messages between two people, no one was hurt and would not have been found out if their homes had not been raided/

so can you just confirm aog

if the messages found were of the effect (say) that Lee Rigby was a scumbag Brit squaddie who deserved everything he got

you would have no issue with Messrs Mackay and Moody?
Homes raided by a legal court order. If an alternative incriminating piece of evidence is found and proven, then they deserve to have the book thrown at them for that offence(s) also. The chance you take...
It is hard to believe, after so many similar scandals, that grown business men still put these stupid comments on social networks. Don't they read the papers? The apology from Malky is laughable. He is fighting for his future but must accept the consequences of his actions. He IS a racist, homophobe, anti semitic etc otherwise he would have not made these comments.
