The TIA post prompts this.

What do you say at the bottom of an email, for informal business or to someone you don't know well?

I usually say "many thanks" - which doesn't really mean anything, just "thanks for reading this", I guess.

I have a huge dislike of "Kind Regards" - what the devil does that mean? I know several people who use it (or KR), and it always winds me up....

"I await with bated breath your hasty response to my humble missive, and my joy shall no know bounds upon the receipt of the words of wisdom which I do most assuredly expect that it shall be composed."
Kind regards from me. Or regards if its not so friendly. If its a friend I often just use my initial J. I do have a set 'signature' on my emails which is my name, my affix/breed (kennel name) and a phrase 'because life's too short to show an ugly dog'. When replying instead of Hi or Dear xx I tend to put 'Thanks xx,' and then go straight into the text.
