If There Is A God Why Did He Wait For Thousands Or Millions Of Years To Give His Prophets Their Messages/books To Spread Their Religions?

I'm talking about mainly the "Big 3" Islam. Christianity and Judaism but you can include any other religions you know about.

Why did god allow man to live thousands or millions of years without religion and in "In sin" and then chose his time deep into the future and near the end of the world according to Christianity and Islam (Does anyone know whether Judaism is too?)

It's almost like your teacher suddenly thrusting a years work of studies at you in the final 2 hours of class and telling you that there's an exam in one hour and if you fail it you fail all of your exams and will be burnt and thrown into an eternal fire filled with suffering for eternity.

Scary stuff!

What's your take on how religion was "delivered" to mankind?

Scooping, keyplus, Atheists are quite happy to leave believers to their delusions, except when they come out with ridiculous distortions of fact or have their beliefs impinge on the ungodly. The other day I went to do my shopping, All the shops were shut. Why? because the catholic church in it's infinite wisdom decided several hundred years ago and with no corroboration in the bible that mary the mother of jesus went to heaven. Anyone who believes that truly is a few candles short of an altar.
Keyplus, //Funny isn’t it? //

Is it? What's funny about what's happening in Iraq right now as a result of your religion? You might find humour in it - but I can't. If you really need to question why atheists are so anti-religion I feel sorry for you.
scooping // A little respect for our views might be nice.//

Why should we respect your views? Your views are based on the musings of ancient arrogant misogynists.

The religious are, by definition, unreasonable. Yet they presume their faith should be the basis for common law.
Is the violence in Iraq solely down to sectarian differences? Foreign countries, Saudi and Iran(to name just two) have their wooden spoons stirring at full tilt.

No - but the barbarity and the beheadings are.

So, I guess he is still waiting. Whilst people still believe in god he will know that they are not ready for him :o)

Beso: Sorry, I thought I was allowed a point of view.
Jomifl: The Virgin Mary went to heaven on a Sunday? Thought that was Christ. Besides, the Sabbath was not even a Christian or Judaic invention. Funny how atheists think they know all about religion.
Here we go again
Happy as can be
All good friends
And jolly good company!!
Jomifl: If all the shops were shut on a Sunday you must be living somewhere odd or need your eyes testing.

You are allowed a POV. Just don't expect to be able to present it without attracting criticism.

Immunity from criticism is what the religious actually mean when they ask for "respect". They want to be able to continue to promote their deeply prejudiced beliefs without anyone saying anything against them.

The church has long had the ability to silence the opposition (with varying degrees of authority) but modern democratic society simply doesn't work that way.

Religion will eventually end up on the scrap heap of dead end philosophies.
Scooping, I'm beginning to see how the bible makes sense to you. Where did I say that Mary went to heaven on a Sunday? Here in France where most shops close on a Sunday, Mary goes to heaven on a Friday(afternoon)(That's why the shops were shut on Friday too), at least she did this year.
/ Besides, the Sabbath was not even a Christian or Judaic invention. Funny how atheists think they know all about religion. /
Atheist don't claim to know all about religion, where did you get that daft idea from? Atheists don't need to know anything about religion except where it decrees that the shops be closed :o)
