I've been asked to buy one of these as a gift.

Are the reviews as good as they appear, does any one here have any first hand experience?

excellent. I have got two large muddy dogs and I can blast round and make my house look normal in a matter of minutes. I do have to empty it fairly often and wash the filters more often than they suggest but that's more to do with the dogs than the machine. I have got hard wood floors, a big rug and those dirt trapper type rubber backed mats and it cleans then all without needing to change anything. Its also light enough to carry up and down stairs easily.
No, I don't work for them or own shares!!

Thanks Woof. I keep seeing the Ads and wonder...........

If the reality lives up to the blurb then I may have a happy rellie....or probably not in reality :-(

Thanks again.
I have got some of their rechargeable gardening stuff too, and the handheld vac. None of it is cheap but its really good.
I've had one for about a year and it's the best thing I have ever bought! It's light and easy to use. I have arthritis and can't use a heavy upright, so this is great for me. My daughter has one and uses the slightest reason to get the Gtech out!

Many thanks.

I can be quite stubborn when buying gifts and was reluctant to get sucked into the marketing hype.

It's the best vac I've ever owned. Really light & very powerful. And I got mine in bright pink!
