Just Found A Lump

For the past two days, I have had pain on bending, in the right lower abdominal quadrant.
I was just describing to Mr F where the pain was, and I can feel a definite lump there, and it's tender. Area just a bit smaller than half a tennis ball.
Any ideas please?

I promise I will be at "sit and wait" session tomorrow without fail.
Nothing springs to mind.

Is it in your groin or well above it.

Is it in the skin or under the skin?

Is it hard or soft.

Have you been having any trouble with your bowels?

Can you REALLY feel a lump?
I'm with the others on this - go to the surgery and don't leave until someone sees you.
Question Author
Squad, I really can feel this firm thing under my skin, I was standing next to MrF describing it.
Firm, about waist level, under the skin, and yes - a little bowel trouble of late.
Hernia?
Question Author
Can you get one there? I have been running about a bit more after the plumbers etc. Also, after son who has been replacing some ridge tiles. Handing stuff up, and taking broken tiles from him.
Palpating the abdomen while standing is not very reliable, GP will check you over - sure all will be well.
Well, nothing sinister comes to mind.
With the exercise that you have described and the sudden onset of symptoms.....2 days, it could well be a torn muscle.

However as all the posters have said....see your GP....but don't think the unthinkable.

Thanks all, will phone first thing.
going to the doctor now is the only thing to do . hopefully it won't be serious but waiting isn't going to any it any better. good luck xx
.....well....what did the Dr. say about that lump?
Question Author
Just back from GP, it's an abdominal hernia.
Grateful it's nothing more sinister.
He will be writing to a consultant.
Thanks all.
Good news, Ferlew.....☺
Yepp! that sounds about right.
