Why send me an email saying a package had been delivered. Might have noticed.
As it was I was expecting a delivery, heard doorchimes, down the stairs to see dreaded red and white card through letterbox before chimes had stopped.
Opened door to see post person at van rear door. He saw me and shut van door. I dashed out onto pavement and he opened the van door again and gave me the package, not making eye contact and scooted to driver's door and drove off. No way would he have had time ti ring the bell and then write out the sorry we missed you card.
Would have taken me at least an hour on public transport (including walk to the bus and back) to collect it.
Service? I think not.

I sympathise with you.Lots of sloppiness with Royal Mail.Postmen too lazy to take path and walk across gardens, delivering Signed For mail after 1pm deadline etc etc

Supposed to be signed for, I realised later, but he did not ask.

Never get post before mid-day, except for Saturday when they clock off after delivery. No wonder businesses are switching to other carriers.
Much under valued business of course! Mr Cable saw to that! Hindsight he says....
>>>delivering Signed For mail after 1pm deadline

'Signed For' doesn't have a cut-off time for delivery. Ony 'Special Delivery Guaranteed' has (of either 9am or 1pm, depending upon the service used).
sympathise with you there daisy. our normal postie is very good but reliefs when he is on holiday - just cannot believe how they behave. their lack of thought rivals that of a dead person.
>Much under valued business of course! Mr Cable saw to that! Hindsight he says....

I'm not sure about that. The share price has fallen significantly after the initial surge. Investors have realised that they are in a very competitive market and tough times lie ahead for Royal Mail
We got our normal post yesterday at 3.30 in the afternoon!
Correct Buenchico! That was the service I meant.
It must be pot luck, I can honestly say my postman is absolutely brilliant. If a parcel arrives and we're out (which we usually are) he takes it round to the inlaws without even asking.
Did Royal Mail send the email?
Our two regular posties are lovely but we never get our post before about 1.pm ish as we live in the back end of nowhere.
