If you were owed money by an individual who repeatedly refused to pay and out of frustration you texted them and told them to keep it would that count against you if you took them to court at a later date. I don't know if they still have the text.

No expert but I 'd have thought it would show it was a gift and non-returnable. That said the text may no longer exist and now all they have is your confession here.

I would think so as you've made a gift of it!
Personally, I would go around with a baseball bat and get my money. But I'm drunk and an ex convict so probably not the best idea...

It is called forgiving a debt and tell the judge that you didnt mean it and see what happens...this is over the car still is it ?
No Baldric there is no intention of making it a gift so that is what he tells the judge....
