Bah! I just like mundane cars then. I am just bring an austin maxi back to life in the worst possible *** brown colour just to attend the next event.
Question Author
LOL,is it the 1750, Quoi. I remember that errrrrrm lovely colour !.
Yep 1750 - never did like the 1500. Its also the Maxi 2 which is blander and worth less than the early model. Only done 35k though.
The new paint makes the brown look even ***.
Question Author
Ooooh I'm impressed, Quoi. Going for the powerful model ;-)
Cortina was great. Granada weren't bad either.
Question Author
So was the Capri and the Scimitar.

I had a V6 Capri for a while, it liked to proceed rear-end first on a damp road surface, all good fun though!
Question Author
Baldric, I've owned three Capri's, two of them were 3.0 V6's. Great fun.
Cortina was great- I really don't think so.......
Question Author
kenjonbro, makes you wonder how 2,600,000 British buyers could be so wrong doesn't it !.

Amazingly I clicked on the link and actually clicked the arrow.

Did they not have any nice or pretty colours back then? They are all an insipid colour.

What is number 17? (They say: "Now this is a Wolseley 1300 and a half. Quite literally.") Why would anybody want a spare back half of their car?

I got bored at that point.

Question Author
LOL, wolf mostly crap colours back then ( 1960's were even worse ). Interesting trailer on that Wolseley don't you think ?. And you got bored c'us your a girl ;-)
tonyav - the brits have bought loads of rubbish in mass numbers over the years.Besides lots of Cortinas went to fleets buying in bulk at knockdown prices.
Cortina was known as " Dagenham Dustbin" with mediocre drive and dog rough engines.Cars built by penny pinching accountants
Escort mk5 was slated by the media with Ford (somehow spending) £1 billion "developing" a car that bought virtually nothing new to the party.
Current Fords are class leaders and top sales charts - but so did crappy ones like Cortina/Escort
Question Author
Tell me something I don't know.

It is to me.
Nice link Tony. Although a scimitar is anything but mundane as has been said.
Compared to BL cars, Fords were a delight. Marina. Shudder.
