Only if you don't want a virus. That stated, I'm unsure how attractive a target a Kindle is to virus writers.

Thanks Zacs and OG. I don't use it to surf the web as such, just Amazon, Facebook and my emails.

I'll get it protected anyway, can't be too careful!
