Lee Childs And John Sandford

My husband and I have read all the Jack Reacher books and almost finished the Prey series with Lucas Davenport. We love these authors and wondered if anyone could recommend another author similar to these thriller writers?

I think Michael Connelly is even better than Lee Child. Brilliant writing and interesting characters . You need to read the novels in order. 'The Black Echo ' is the first.

How did you like the last Jack Reacher? (Never Go Back). I thought it was a bit disappointing and rather an anti climax. Having walked across half of America to find his lady love they part with hardly a backward glance.!

Apparently the next one will bring him to London.

The next Michael Connelly is also due this autumn.

I've read all the Michael Connelly books and Lee Childs, I always look forward to the new ones. Tom Bradby (of ITV news fame) is a good author, I don't often see his books in charity shops though. David Baldacchi has had me looking for more of his books too. Haven't read the Prey series I'll look out for them.

Gregg Hurwitz also writes fast paced thrillers, worth a try maybe

I love Lee Child and Michael Connelly and have read all their books - they can do no wrong! I also like Simon Kernick, Gregg Hurwitz and Gregg Iles (Iles's books are more in the style of John Grisham, who is another excellent author).

Vince flynn writes in a similar vein to lee child, but his hero, Mitch rapp is nowhere near as likeable as Jack reacher. Worth a read though

Thank you ALL very much ! Have started to read the first Peter James novel, Dead Simple - excellent so far. I will try Michael Connelly too - WOW such a choice you have all given us !
Barbara - I didn't think the last Jack Reacher was as good - they all end the same, with him saying goodbye and him hitting the road - again. Perhaps one day he will settle down, but that would be the end wouldn't it?

Andy McNab and Stephen Leather are also excellent. I used to like Peter james and his first Roy Grace, Dead Simple, was terrific but since then, they've all become the same old same old. Very disappointing, VERY repetitive.
