Yes, I know, a grim thought...

I've been looking at the Scholl Pedi hard skin remover thing. Has anyone got one and do they work?

Any suggestions for an alternative?

I tried the Avon one which was useless. I found that if you soak your feet for a while then take a knife and pare off the skin that helps. Thereafter use a cocoa butter cream morning and night that should help. Also use a pumice stone each time you bathe.
File hard skin off regularly with a foot file after a good soak .Compeed for cracked heels is brilliant .Not that I'm saying your heels are cracked :) It's a great all round foot cream .
Embrace your Hobbit Feet ;-)

I use the cheese grater thingy, followed by pumice followed by foot cream.

I have regular pedicures.

"Hobbit Feet" Describes them to a T, Eccles!

What's a cheese grater thingy?

Shaney, I did look at the Compeed cracked heels stuff. I'll maybe give that a go.

The basic problem is that I'm lazy. Would rather buzz round my trotters with some electric gadget thing than take time to soak them.
Gawd!. Have a pedicure for heaven's sake.

Tilly, I can't stand someone else touching my feet. But I do like the idea of getting pampered!

Thanks for the links, Chris, I'll have a wee look.
I have one and its brilliant.Soak feet first and put loads of cream on afterwards.Heartily recommend it.
Most pharmacies sell bladed tools for removing hard skin from the feet.
My podiatrist recommends that once purchased they are thrown straight in the bin before serious damage is done by over enthusiastic amateurs.
A visit to a pro then moisturising with the cheapest aqueous cream available (Aldi, £1.99/500g) works well.

Thanks everyone for all your replies, hopefully my scabby feet will soon be fit for public appearances!
2sp - on a previous similar thread I recommended this - it's brilliant, you don't have to faff around soaking, just get the sandpaper out :-)

Oil and coarse salt. Give them a good scrub, rinse off and then put on some hand cream or anything similar you have lying around.
There's a Heel Balm, think its made by Scholl but not certain, just keep slathering it on and it fixes everything !! Xx
Flexitol Heel Balm is really good.
I agree re the Flexitol if you have cracked heels, but that doesn't remove the hard skin (does it?).
I have used flexitol for years on my residents feet, as long as you use it twice a day it is amazing. Yes the hard skin will disappear also. If you can't do it twice a day then don't buy it!
