I am thinking of changing my mobile and also my provider. I have an HTC Cha Cha at present but I have never really got on with it, I don't use many of the features, as the camera is useless, it can't seem to load apps as the memory is low and the battery life is so short on the phone I often despair.

I am thinking of having a Samsung Galaxy 3 mini - has anyone got one and what are the pros and cons of this phone please? Can anyone recommend it?

I am with Orange EE at present but thinking to swap to TalkTalk where I will get this phone free with a £10 month short contract. If I do decide to change, how do I go about getting all the info in my old phone changed across to my new phone please, I'm pretty useless at that kind of thing, maybe I should ask a 6 year old!

Ann, Mrs av has one, just asked her what her thoughts are about her phone and her answer is 'she loves it'.

That's great Tone, is it easy to use? It has to be simple for me!
Hang on Ann, I'll ask her.
She say's 'Very'.
Hiya, I have one too and I love it! Very easy to use, connects to the internet no problem. Takes great photos, easy to text and it it small, but not too small. I'd recommend it - oh, and as it's an android phone, you can get some good free apps & games too. It links to your google account so you can get email alerts on it too.
I'm with Virgin on an 18 month contract, where I get a new phone & deal every 18 months, Direct debit is £13 per month. Cheap as chips. :o)

How did she change all the info from her old phone? or is it the first one she has owned? x

Thanks peas, I did go and have a look at one in a shop today, the camera looks much better than on my HTC.
She also says that it takes very good photo's, Ann.
Save all your numbers and pictures to your sim. And then if you are having your new phone from a phone shop they will see to it for you. Coincidentally Mrs av's old phone was an HTC Desire C.
I have that phone, ann - I've had it about 18 months. The camera quality is first class, and easy to upload to your computer too, if you wanted to.

I just took the SIM from my old phone into the new one, so all the information came with me. As long as you have saved all your contacts on your SIM and not on the phone, you don't have to do anything else, the phone just finds them.

The battery life's not huge but I use it a lot, I have to recharge every couple of days. Seems to be common with a lot of new phones!

We're with 02 on a monthly contract - the phone came free with a 2-year contract. I'd recommend it.
Ann, if you are thinking of going to Virgin - mention if you have any other Virgin products already i.e broadband etc, if you do have their products already you should get a cheaper deal

Good to know thanks Boxy. I am coming to the end of my contract with Talktalk for Broadband and phone and they have offered me this new phone if I will take mobile through them too, so unfortunately I wouldn't be able to get a phone shop to do it all for me.
You could take the old phone to a phone shop (any phone shop) and ask them to sell you a small backup device - I did that a while ago on a previous phone when I had loads saved to the phone rather than the SIM. If you're lucky, they'll do it for you in the shop. You can then plug it back into your new phone and transfer it back over. Do you know if you have much on your phone rather than on the SIM?
I have the S3 non-mini version and I love it. It's my first smartphone, easy to use for basic stuff but has masses of features I don't use.

Not sure if its on SIM or not Boxy - how do I check?
I've got a little symbol on each of my contacts that tells me where it's saved.....

If you're coming to the end of the contract, why not look at other service providers who have high street shops? I go into the 02 shop quite often with fairly simple old-lady questions, they are very kind to me!
