No, nowt to do with Masterchef.
Alistair, the England cricket captain is out caught for 10 at Lords in England's reply to India's 295.
The knives will most certainly be out now, if they weren't before.
But who would replace him? Got to be Broad or Bell IMHO.

England not doing well at something...how unusual!
Oh dear. The problemat the moment with thjs England side ia that it's built around Cook, Prior and Bell, all of whom are failing too often. Means that the likes of Root and Ali have to step up and the younger players aren't really ready for that. The senior players need to up their game or move on.

Congrats to India wining for only the second time ever at Lords.
That said, after lunch today that was the most diabolical dispaly of batting by an England team in many a long year.
Senior players taking on shots that were never there, playing strokes that they were specifically set up for and they duly obliged.
There will be changes I'm sure and not before time.
Some hard numbers to back up my earlier point: last four test, Cook, Bell and Prior have scored 115, 179 and 179 runs each at 16.4 and 25.6 respectively; Ballance, Root, Ali scoring 532, 409 and 247 runs at 106, 68, 41. The senior players and Stokes aren't contributing in the way they need to. Makes for a painful set of results. At least one of Cook, Bell and Prior should be replaced soon -- preferably Prior, since Buttler seems a reasonable alternative; while perhaps Jordan could come back in for Stokes, who needs more time to get back into form.

At least the younger players look up for the fight. The older ones seem tired and either past it or getting very close.

Chill....having sat through yesterday and reports from the daughter there again today.....I have no idea at all!

Yes...congratulations to India....and to their lovely, fun fans...well except for the two behind me who had to have a Gness flea in their ears.....☺
Someone needs to take a rest as skipper.

Prior perhaps too....and where are we going to find a decent spinner?
Not a clue Chilli, and it seems Cook's not going anywhere just now. So we have a captain who's not very good at it continuing in the role, and a batsman who was reasonably good at it carry on signally failing to make runs. Anything else would be giving in to the critics.

Anyway, what on earth happened over lunch today?? Root and Ali nearly resurrected the innings, then it turns into comedy hour - what was all that about?

Cook needs to have the captaincy taken away. I have no doubt his form will return when he hasn't got the armband, being a tactician and concentrating on his batting at the same time is beyond him.
Give it to Broad, he's done it in one day cricket so let him have a couple of tests.
Prior ought to have played his last game, he has had a nightmare with bat and gloves and it's time to go.
And yes jim, Jordan ought to return for Stokes.
Chilli, Broad might have the right attitude but I'm not sure losing to Holland in the World Cup was an unqualified success
Too many Cooks spoil the broth
Bell's own form is poor. Broad's last attempt at captaincy ended in total humiliation. Root's probably next up.
