I injured my achilles tendon on Saturday night. I felt something 'ping' in my leg and I couldn't walk properly.

Sunday I went to the Walk in Centre who examined me and confirmed that I had damaged my achilles tendon but had not ruptured it completely and it hadn't come away from the heel bone. My leg/foot was strapped up, I was given crutches and advised to not put any weight on it at all, total rest, and to visit my GP asap.

Monday I went to the GP who firstly said he would send me for a scan and then changed his mind and said he would refer me to Orthopaedics as an urgent case instead.

It is now Friday and I have heard nothing. I am sick to death of other people telling me I should go to A&E and demand a scan. I am sure the medical professionals I have seen know what they are doing and I will wait for an appointment or chase the GP on Monday.

What do others think? I am still resting it and using the crutches and am in no pain at all.

Thanks for that, I'm just getting a bit fed up of others who are not medically qualified telling me what I should do.

I'm happy to wait for the appointment and be waited on hand and foot in the meantime :-D
