Surely 700 offences is more than enough to get a proper stretch in one of HMHCs?? 18 months is a joke. What a society when low lives like this are free to make more lives a misery.

so much for the politicians "Tough on crime", still maybe after the next election.
I think he IS in gaol, and I hope likely to remain in gaol for a considerable time.
I'll play the devil's advocate here. If we had strict Sharia Law here he wouldn't have the hands to be going around lifting other peoples property.

There is no reasonable explanation after this many offences. Not even from a cost saving point of view. It must cost society more for him to be free than to keep him in prison, and he's clearly incapable or unwilling to change.

It's his 'oooman right to be free, didnt you know that? How dare you suggest he should be locked up for the good of the public. The EU will be watching you carefully!

right YMB, so it is the fault of society? Society has created the conditions that makes it necessary for him to violate other peoples homes! I see It's all so clear now, well send him on safari then!

yep, unfortunately that's how it works ael. Some people are unfit to be let out in society (some don't even want to be anyway), so we have to pay to house them in secure places so they can't make anyone elses life miserable.
There's no alternative other than killing them, which is a bit extreme.
^ sorry, just realised what you meant. Yes - an actual rent free flat - incredible.
