This morning I had a request from Apple? account suspended verify details. I was unsure as I believe they do ask but the details requested for apple/itunes wanted banking details and I DO NOT THINK THEY HAVE MY CARD DETAILS ANYWAY so I did not complete but went straight to apple and filled in 'forgotten password. The promised response to my email address has not arrived what is the best and safest thing to do please. I only have an account because we have an ipadwith icloud thanks

Very important that you do report the email to Apple before deleting it permanently. If it is genuine, they will tell you.

scam - delete
t’s phishing. Forward it to [email protected] and then delete it.
Ignore
Did the email address you by name? If you hover over the link does it show the email address for somewhere in Rumania or such like?
Anyway you are right never to click on a link. Always go to the authentic site

There's a strong smell of phish!
All are right here. This is a scam. Most major companies have an address to report these scams. As Methyl says report it to Apple.
Check through this page for details https://www.apple.com/legal/more-resources/phishing/
If you hold your finger on the name in the email from, a box will appear whivh will tell you where it really came from.

Apple will not email you to tell you your account has been suspended.

Report to Apple.

Also, if you forward the email to [email protected] that should prevent any repeat emails from that address.
