Sunday. Some cloud about this morning. Yesterday, on the charter, after some early rain, it cleared up and the sun came out. The party were a lovely group of older people having a lovely time and much laughter was had. We got to Purton with plenty of time for them to look around the hulks. They were fascinated as I explained to them why they were there. The tide was on it's way in so they didn't see the wrecks of the two fuel barges that hit the railway bridge and exploded. Lots more laughter on the way back. They enjoyed watching a pair of grebes diving and were trying to guess where they would come up. An otter was looking a bit bewildered, probably wondering how it got there. Buzzards hunting over the fields and the river. Several mama ducks with chicks kicking like mad to keep up. Beautiful.

All the usual suspects were on their way home this morning. The badgers playing before bedtime. Further on three fox cubs playing. The dawn chorus giving it some welly. Deer on the hillside. All is well with the local world.

I have friends coming for dinner this afternoon, so a busy day ahead. How unusual! :o}

Have a happy day everyone.
