Having Babies Late

I know everyone is different but what is the latest you've heard of anyone having a baby- without using IVF or adopting etc? I have a friend who got pregnant naturally at 42 and now has a 4 year old. Is this very unusual though?

i would think it was fairly common although we don't hear much about it these days. i know it wasn't at all uncommon to come across families where the youngest child was often 8-15 years younger than their siblings 30-40 years ago (sometimes planned,more often by accident.) As for the oldest I don't know (not something i keep track of these days.)

I don't think that's unusual at all. It's quite common to have babies in your 40s these days. A woman is capable of getting pregnant until she hits menopause and although that varies round 50+ is the norm.

My mum was 47 when she had me, my sister was 25 at the time. Mum had 7 in between us though!

when i recently had my little one (at 39) there was a lady in the same ante-natal group that had got pg with her first child at 47, and was due to have him at 48

In work we had a 50 year old for a c-section a few weeks back.

Not only these days. I am 60 now and my Mum had me when she was 40. At my primary school where the Mums met at the gate to pick us up, there were quite a few mums around her age.
