I had to look for mine last year, fortunately I found my certificates in the loft otherwise it would have cost a few quid to get them.

I have never been asked for any certificates to back up what I claim on the cv. I think after your first few years after leaving school that your employment record becomes more important.

I went for an interview with my local council last year and they asked for my certificates.

Dont think employers are interested in what happened 26 years ago.

You have to fill the application forms in, johnny, and it wouldn't look good if you just entered "don't know" in the qualifications box. And before an offer is finalised I have been asked for my exam certificates from more than 30 years ago
