Boy.....is that question loaded....;-)

Depends what you mean by "decent quality of life."

Clubbing it is out, forget extramarital affairs.

It is a matter now of cutting one's cloth...........

Aged 79.....you have done OK.....more years perhaps, but watching TV and a sleep after meals is on the cards now.

Is that what you wanted to hear?

do you mean not going out -I dont drink but like to go to quizzes -I alsodrive--thanks for your honest answer sqad do you think only tv and sleep if so might as well pack up now!!
\\\\do you think only tv and sleep if so might as well pack up now!!\\\

LOL....perhaps i was just thinking of myself.....;-)

If you drive and go to quizzes and probably on steroid vasodilator inhalers, then you ar not doing to badly, but your sleep pattern, gives the game away.

what do you mean sleep gives the game away------I can only sleep upright
That's exactly what i mean.......that shows that your heart is being pushed to the limit.
i hope you have been given appropriate treatment for your ailments. if you are able to drive and still attend your quizzes, enjoy.

thanks for answers just hope for a few more years if lucky
I hope your treatment makes you feel a bit better zak. :))
So do I zak x
I myself have copd zak and that is enough to deal with, along with several other ailments on my part,as long as you can still do what you enjoy and it does not put you or other people at risk(thinking about driving)then why not.
I had a couple of heart attacks and a triple by-pass 20 years ago and I'm now 86 . I still do a couple of miles walk most days plus gardening. I have several friends in their 80s and 90s and one will be 100 in six weeks time. If your heart is the only major problem you have 20 more good years to enjoy.
What a joy to read your post modeller, you would put someone half your in age in excellent health to shame,an inspiration!
