Ken, I fully understand why for some , script writers not being meticulous with facts would to a trained eye, spoil the whole believability of a drama.

From ... ignorance is bliss ;0)
I thoroughly enjoyed it and looking forward to the rest of it.
Elina, had it been a minor error i may have enjoyed the programme a little more. As it was, the entire first episode was based on the bet and it's outcome.
I thought it was good . I know nothing about betting so it didnt spoil it for me that it wasn't exact.
I watch tv for entertainment especially if Philip Glenister is doing the entertaining :)

Ken, I agree with you, I really do. I suppose like shaneystar, I watched & enjoyed as light entertainment. You on the other hand with your background, saw flaws others didn't see & it spoilt the drama for you.
Have just spoken to a friend about the programme and mentioned the bet to him. He says he was also puzzled that Glenister tore the bet up as, with 3 winners on it, it would surely have produced some sort of return. So i've just worked out that with the 3 winners, he would have had a (roughly) £385 trixie on at odds of, let's say, 1/2, evens and evens. Which would have returned over £6,000!! Perhaps in episode 2 we'll see them sellotaping the bet together again:-)
