It's not what she says, it's the way she says it. Particularly when she gives corrections or other info with the tone of voice that drones and trails off... Bring back William G Stewart! Or is he dead?
I think she has hosted it well, they were big shoes to fill.
Terribly irritating. Superior, sarcastic, and unfunny.
No man could live with that . . .
Pardon?
William Gladstone Stewart is 78 and must have retired. I was surprised to discover that in the 1960s he was private secretary to Tom Driberg, about whom he made a documentary in 2009.

I was also amazed to discover that in 1998, he successfully sued the Fifteen to One contestant Trevor Montague, who had lied to get onto the programme!
I enjoy her contribution to the new format & consider her sharp & witty with an easy-going air & good enunciation
Give up after a couple shows too long winded and no no to Sandy!
They've had the grand final already?! Its only been going a couple of weeks!
Not seen it but I really like Sandi Toksvig, her books are very good and The News Quiz on Radio 4 is excellent
I've kept forgetting that it has been on and so have only watched it on a couple of occasions but it loses a lot in being an hour long rather than the 30 minutes duration that necessitated rapid-fire questioning.
I watched it for the first week then, somehow, I got bored with it. I used to love it.
William G Stewart used to irritate the hell out of me, so I didn't mind Ms Toksvig. The main problem was that the show was twice as long as it needed to be! After the first couple, I recorded it to watch later so that I could skip through all the chat and advert breaks.
I don't mind her although I did prefer William G Stewart but it does get irritating when she spends more time giving an explanation of the answer than it takes to ask/answer the question. And why are some people on it more than once? That never used to happen. I do enjoy it though as the questions are mostly general knowledge, just a few are a bit specialist.
Loads of people appeared on the old 15 to 1 once. I think the rules were slightly different -- these days people are given three chances on the show to get to the final round; in the past, usually only winners were invited to appear multiple times -- one person, Chris Russon, appeared in 14 separate episodes over 9 series.
As the saying goes she has the perfect face for Radio, dreadful in every sense ,I hope that the new series sees a change of presenter.
I really enjoyed it. Let's face it, no one will ever be as good as William G but Sandi is ok - could be worse, could be some brainless personality. Some of the questions are absolute stinkers. Can't wait for the next series!
