If you apply for SPCC, does the parent actually lose money from their Child Allowance each month, or is it just a paper exercise? Thanks.

Put your heading into Google & you can go to a Gov.uk factsheet. It looks quite a complex process but it is only so that the adult providing the care can be credited with NI contributions, so the parent will not have their Child Benefit reduced.

Thanks, themas. I had googled it but it isn't very clear whether my son's partner's Child Benefit would be affected.

I look after my two granddaughters twice a week now and looked after Number 1 for three days a week, since 2008.

I wouldn't want her to have to take a cut in her CB.
Apologies if I've mis-remembered it, but I've a vague idea that one of your previous posts indicated you were getting Pension Credit. If that is the case you must be of State Pension age. If you are, you wouldn't be entitled to the credits anyway.

I don't get Pension Credit, themas but I am a Pensioner. Not sure what will happen, but I have applied anyway. If they say no, they say, no.
