What's the difference between vanilla essence and vanilla extract please

vanilla essence means it tastes of vanilla.
vanilla extract means it is the real thing.

Extract is just that...extracted from real vanilla. Essence is artificial flavour and is much cheaper and rubbish in comparison.

Extract will always be better but I quite like the taste of essence as well.

Always go for extract Kgrayz, even in butter icing - it is worth paying the extra as the taste is so much better

If you want it to taste of vanilla...the extract would be much better, but more expensive.
