Was given a voucher a few years ago for an hour's session of foot massage/reflexology. Was very sceptical and expected to 'make my excuses an leave' after about five minutes. Instead it was the most relaxing experience of my life and I couldn't believe it when I was gently woken up after the hour had passed.
Walked on air for the rest of the day.
If I could afford it, would happily have it on a weekly basis.

jenny; I ask because I have suffered for several weeks an acute pain in my neck. I read that reflexologists claim, not 'cure' anything but buy affecting the nervous system, allow the body to relax in a manner to allow it to heal itself, which kinda makes sense. I looked further and discovered that the part of the foot claimed to relate to the neck is in the joint of the big toe. Without any thoughts of improvement, yesterday I massaged here and was amazed this morning to discover the pain was less severe.
Coincidence maybe, but I was thinking of pursuing this further.
i was going to see a specialist, but didnt because i couldn´t foot the bill/ or got cold feet
I've not tried it...I was considering it when my neighbour was having a 'reflexologist' come to her house so I went along to talk to her. She couldn't give me confident answers to my health related questions and anyone experienced would have known.

I'm sure there are good ones but probably many bad ones, choose carefully. This might help

Khandro, go for it!
I have tried it and found it very relaxing.
I cannot say that it helped any ailments, but I did enjoy the treatment.
What totally puzzled me, though , was that , without my having mentioned to the reflexologist what my health issues were, when he massaged the area on my feet related to my 'problem' it didn't half hurt . I always asked what area when it hurt and it was always related to my problem.
I am and remain very sceptical of any healing, I can only report what happened to me....it hurt more when he pressed the areas related to eg sinus when I had a sinus problem and neither he knew that I had the problem nor did I know which area was related to sinus.
It's certainly supposed to be very relaxing. There's no harm in trying either. Would be interested to see if it helps.
Approx 30yrs ago I had a course of six reflexology sessions. I have not had a migraine since. My practitioner was excellent and I recommended her to several people who found relief from their symptoms.

Thanks to all, I shall give it a try.
I`ve tried it a couple of times in the Far East and it was *** agony. They do it really hard (even when you tell them not to) and sometimes they use little implments that look like miniature honey spoons and they stick them into the side of your toes which brings on even more agony. My late friend and neighbour was a reflexologist and she said that they do it in a more gentle way here and when she did reflexology on me, she said that I had a large bladder which was a bit strange because I was told that by the medical profession. If nothing else, it is relaxing.
I had a go, a long time back, and enjoyed it.

Like your toe story, I learned that massaging the fold of skin in between your forefinger and thumb can help to assuage headaches - strange, but true.
Yes I have, different therapist do different techniques. It is very relaxing, but I find I do get a headache after the session.
