See the way with bubble wrap there is a flat side and a side with the bubbles protruding? If you age packing a box using said bible wrap, do the bubbles face the box or do the bubbles face the protected items? Or does it matter?

With bubbles facing the protected item.
Thought your question was about a singer
I hope bibblebub sees this
First layer, bubbles in. Top layer bubbles out.
Just as Sellotape, Hoover, Biro, etc are brand names that have become generic names, Bubble Wrap is also one, being a brand name belonging to the US company that developed it, the Sealed Air Corporation. Not a lot of people know that!...

''Or does it matter?''

About as much as which side of tin foil you should have facing outwards/inwards...
There is no protocol, flobadob. Just wrap it up and shove it in a box.
And have fun popping the bubbles afterwards !
Think of it this way: "Bubble Wrap" is like a suit of armor in that it's supposed to protect what's inside it; therefore, the protective part (the bubbles) face away from the article being shipped.
''the protective part (the bubbles) face away from the article being shipped''

But it could be argued (if one had nothing better to do at 7.47pm on a Bank Holiday Monday) that having the bubbles on the outside exposes them to potential damage/puncture, thus making the contents vulnerable to damage... what a conundrum.
Snags, I thought that I had posted sort of a neat answer...Now you've gone and burst my bubble:)
I was thinking of ordering a roll of bubblewrap, just to see what it comes packaged in...
No - unlike loo paper which has to be hung so that the sheets rip off from over the top ,as opposed to underneath

Good point regarding things like vases.
You need not worry if you use bible wrap as it would be in the Lord's protection.

Gee is this thread for real ;-)
it doesn't really matter - but i'd have the thought the bubbles IN gave a modicum more protection - as you not only have the bubbles, but also the flat plastic sheet which also creates layer of air between the bubbles

but unless the item is very fragile - such as a china ornament i dont think theres much in it really

Personally I would have thought bubbles toward the items and flat side toward the packaging, but there doesn't seem to be a consensus here
OK, flobadob, I'll emphasize my answer three more times; therefore, that's a wrap...All tied up in a neat package, I might add:)
