The Lord moves in mysterious ways.
Question Author
its not something you read about, i know that there are Chinese Muslims, Buddhists, Christians too it would seem
In fairness they are so numerous they're in danger of being the world's most Muslim nation, Buddhist nation, .... etc. etc. etc.
Question Author
the link suggests they will be largely Christian in a relatively short time
Question Author
this is in a nation that has been secretive beyond all bounds
if you've got one Christian and someone else converrts, that's 100% growth rate in 10 seconds. It doesn't mean you'll keep up that rate for ever, though.
Question Author
not forever, but this is a country that persecutes Christians,
Question Author
or has done.
I remember reading, not so long ago, about Christian missions in China that do charitable work, such as providing care for the elderly. They are left alone to get on with such work by the government, which doesn't provide much in those respects. Such projects were said to be leading to a spreading awareness and increasing interest about Christianity among the population.
If true that probably means RC. I wonder how that will fit in with China's one child per family rule.
There may be as many as five million professional fortunetellers in China.

Apparently many people have a double standard, since they will not admit in public what they practice in private.

One author says that this reluctance is due to a fear of appearing silly to others. Thus, such individuals may prefer to call their superstitious customs routines or habits.
Question Author
it has more to do with being persecuted for their faith,
or so i am led to believe
Well Jesus did say you would be......Happy are those who have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake, since the kingdom of the heavens belongs to them.—Matt. 5:10
mmm.... they really get you with that ^^ one. Makes you feel good, eh? ;o)
Question Author
who wants to be persecuted for believing in a God, absurd
almost as good as being persecuted for not believing
Goodlife once told me he's Chinese. No surprise he knows all about those five million fortune tellers.
