Two feathers, how did you do thst without it changing to italics?

Like this, [i]
Hi Tilly On my first answer I used the [i] on the 2nd post iwas trying to see if it would underline! as juno just pointed out AB does not do bold so probably wont underline either
Baldric, that's not very helpful.
AB used to let you do bold and coloured type and even invisible ink

So now italics is all you get and even that goes kablooey if you use some punctuation marks inside the bit you're trying to italicise.

But the answer to the OP is, it depends on whose email service you're using.
When folk have finished discussing putting italics on their post at this site :-)

It may help to know what you use for e-mail. What client (i.e. what programme on your PC) you use to read & write e-mails. Or whether you go to a web site to send and receive.

Once that's established someone with experience of it may be able to help.

Meanwhile try the 'Control I' thing others have suggested, it is reasonably common.

Tilly if you use a single [i] rather than the pair required to produce italics nothing happens
2feathers used the symbols needed to produce bold type (not italics, if you look) which don't work on AB.
Ah, I see, thank you, Baldric. I was multi-tasking and didn't read it properly.

Only a woman can do that, or so the OH tells me!

OK so there is a knack to it,hang on italic
yeah, well done, aya.
Being able to put italics into AB postings is Not really any help for E/mails.

Please answer the points put above ^^^^^ by O_G and I or someone else will help you.

Hans.
who's your email provider? Gmail, Outlook, or someone like that? It will depend on their own setup whether the AB arrangement works there or not.
In [i] gmail & [i] outlook. (Testing.)
IT doesn't work
I have a task bar on my emails on Outlook that I can just click on to do Italics or Bold.
Try again ( forgot to do it at end of word as well)
In gmail & outlook
Yes it works he he
