I noticed this morning when Reeva got up she had a lot of saliva running from her mouth- unusual for her , never seen her do this before. I didn't think too much about it and just cleaned it off. She has been asleep for an hour or so while I have been busy, in her favourite position , on her back all legs in the air ( very ladylike my girl) and when she stood the side of her face and head are soaking wet . Any idea what could be causing this before I start ringing to get vets appointment ?

Its what we do best Tilly. She has been in the other room with my partner and I have just gone in to her lying in load of it , her face is soaking wet.
Did the vet look in her mouth?
Question Author
Hi woofgang yes checked her mouth and heart, took temperature and felt around her tummy. She gave her a couple of gravy bones so she could see how she was eating as well..
sounds like the vet is right then, poor wee soul. It might take 24 hours for the antibiotic to kick in which I know is horrible for us owners.
Have you got loads of old towels?
Question Author
Do you think woofgang ? I keep getting up and checking her every two minutes I think she is sick of me ! Have you heard of anything like this before ?
Question Author
Yes we have a pile of towels that we keep just for Reeva.
Jasmin, I do feel for you. It's horrible when your baby is poorly. I hope things improve overnight after she's had a sleep.
I have to go now. Please let us know how things are in the morning.
not in animals but my niece (who is now 40) used to get ear infections as a baby and they made her dribble.
Jasmin, are you around? Any better?
Question Author
Hi Tilly she is no better this morning so I am taking her back to vets at 11 x
Aw, let us know how you get on, jasmin. Best wishes to you both.
Question Author
Thank you I will let you know what they say. x
Hi, jasmin. Are you back?
Question Author
Hi Tilly Reeva has been kept at the vets to have some tests done so I am still no further forward at the moment. It was awful leaving her there and the house is far too quiet !
Question Author
Vets just rang and said all Reeva's blood tests are normal however they want to keep her in overnight for observation. x
I suffer from excess saliva due to the drugs that I am taking, But unless Reeva has been munching Lithium and antidepressants that probably isn't the cause.

I found this site which gives some more information ~ http://www.petmd.com/dog/conditions/mouth/c_multi_ptyalism but it seems that, lke me, you have a conscientious vet and they will try and get to the bottom of the problem.

I know what it is like - my moggies are my family and it is horrible when they are ill. I was at the vet with Frankie the other day and the vets and admin staff are all really good.

Good luck to you and Reeva.

Thanks for that Susan, Its just awful in here without her running around like a nutcase wanting to play. I will be glued to the phone all night in case they ring again.
