At the weekend, both have games against teams in the lower half of the table, but I think the clincher is April 27th, when they play each other. Chelsea are at home to Sunderland on Saturday afternoon (5:30 p.m. kick-off) and Liverpool are away to Norwich on Sunday (12:00 p.m. kick off). I think that Liverpool are still in the box seat, because the other two games (Apart from when they play each other) are a day later than Chelsea. They know what they've got to do to lift the PL Trophy. IF they do Chelsea at Anfield, they'll have the 5-point cushion.

Both results last night were quite a surprise so every game for all 3 teams is a potential pitfall on current form. I want Liverpool to win but it just feels like it's not going to be down to just that one game against Chelsea.
Question ...

Something I heard on the radio ...

Is there something about the FA Cup winner getting into some European competition, unless they are already in Europe coz they finish in the Top 4?
Question Author
yes Champions League place up for grabs, explained here (along with all the permutations) http://www.premierleague.com/en-gb/news/news/2013-14/apr/europa-league-qualifying-places-explained-140414.html
That's it.

So, assuming Arsenal win the FA Cup against Hull, they won't take up their Europa League place if they finish 4th and go into the Champions League.

The Europa League will go to the FA Cup runners up ... Hull.

So Hull could play in Europe, if Arsenal finish 4th.

And Arsenal finishing 4th is more likely if they beat Hull in the Prem.

So ... Hull are likely to be in Europe ... as long as they let Arsenal beat them in the Prem.

Or, put another way ... beating Arsenal could prove very costly for Hull.

Hull need to throw that game.

Rod Hull died once EMU had reached the 3rd round.
is there any permutation that might see man u in Europe?
//is there any permutation that might see man u in Europe//

Only if they go there on holiday.

yes, This season, as Manchester City won the Capital One Cup and are likely to finish in the top four, their place will go to the club who finish sixth in the Barclays Premier League table... if the Gunners win the FA Cup and finish outside of the top four they will enter the group stage of the UEFA Europa League as FA Cup winners and an extra place will go to the club who finish seventh in the Barclays Premier League.

So if ManU finish above Spurs then they are definitely in the Europa cup, and they will also be in it under that other combination of results. (this is the 1st time i've got this info correct)
Is it too late for Man U to enter Euro------vision?
Liverpool to win. The Chelsea game is in the middle of the Champions League semi-finals, and I fear they will be somewhat distracted by that.

Chelsea have been a bit lacklustre in some recent games so it might not take much for them to fail to raise their game.
Chelsea have failed to shine against the 'weaker' teams of the division,so am expecting bugler all against Sunderland and Cardiff
As a United supporter and have had a very disappointing season my opinion maybe a little bias but I'd prefer Chelsea to win it this season. Anyone but Liverpool.
Surprise surprise!
Does it affect your life?
It's in their hands now Roy.. its theirs to throw away. Once they stop sobbing.
Brendan Rodgers to win it

I would even settle for Jose

. . . anyone but Moyes.

must be nail-biting for Arksided, wondering if his team will qualify for the Europa league
It also seems like it's nail biting for Arksided, wondering (worrying) if Liverpool will do it.
