What is your question, Anne, exactly? Or did you just start this thread to make daft statements?
If I become a grandmother I'll want more than 50 posts ...
Dave that would deserve a sticky.
I couldn't care a toss about the royal family. What irks me most is the fawning reporters such as Nicholas Witchell, who is a lickspittle in the 1st degree. Even Prince Charles was overheard saying he was a dreadful man.
I think I'd want a gold medal in R&S at least ...
I am wondering now if the Scots gain their total independence will it stop them extracting the urine from the Royal Family? Probably not.

Qu'ils mangent de la brioche/haggis.
Dave, if you ever become a grandmother, you'll get a lot more than a gold medal in R&S. You'll be lauded as the only one ever to have provided genuine proof of a miracle! ;o)
Morning, Anne.....☺
Question Author
morning G. welcome home ! are you in one piece ?
Isn't it nice to see little George charming the colonials and helping to put republicanism on the back burner.
Thank you, Anne......more or less one piece. Will tell you of my little mishaps later.....off soon to...believe it or not.....buy a tree for the bottom of the garden.
The press will be around later to report on it so I suppose I'd better run the iron over a frock......☺
Question Author
G. will you actually be planting the tree ?
Svejk: How's about Simon Weston, Melvyn Bragg, Dudy Dench, Terry Waite, John Sentamu, Darcy Bussel, a pioneering surgeon, charity founder, outstanding athlete - or Steven Hawking. What joy.
doubt any 'normal' people would be interested in the gig.
every other country seems to have politicians.
Yes, Anne....a laburnum.....☺
Question Author
G. will you be smart/smart casual/formal/naked ?
Trust you to be growing a tree well known for it's poison, gness.....who's the intended victim?
Thanks Anne for making me forget I feel rotten due to a stomach bug. Reading some of the replies to your post has really made me feel better! :)
As it's the bottom of the garden I will be in formal dress, Anne.....only naked on the patio which is usually private unless next door is up his ladder.

Oh.....noisy children.........debt collectors and anyone else who annoys me, DT. x
The answer to your question is Svejk...whoever the British people vote for !

Actually, if we did have a vote and Betty put her name forward, I would willingly vote for her. She has more political experience than almost anybody alive in Britain today. She has seen Kings, Queens, Prime Ministers, and Popes come ago since 1952. She seems to have a sensible head on her shoulders, although I can't say the same for most of her relatives.

But we would have choice in a Republic, which we don't have now. Its like dave, or even Blair saying...well, I'm going to stay in Number Ten until I die and then some relative of mine can take over until he or she dies. Nobody would accept that but some seem to have no problem with accepting the same sort of thing with our Head of State. Not logical or rational of course, but any change won't happen in my lifetime.
