This question arose in my mind from the 'HIGNFY' thread in News. What is going on in this country? So many easily offended people! If they’re not instantly apparently practically mortally wounded by what someone else says, they appear to dissect any offerings to find something else to be offended about – even if it’s on behalf of someone else who might not actually be offended. What happened to ‘sticks and stones’, and ‘fight your own battles’ - or to personal pride, strength of character, and to a man's (or a woman's) freedom of thought and speech?

People love to be upset, today upgraded to traumatised, then they can do the sad-face for the tabloids and get a payout. A woman in the DM yesterday did the sad gimmethemoney face because Thorntons wouldn't put Rooney Scholes on her child's Easter egg.
As far as HIGNFY goes, everyone knows the format, it gave Farrage exposure he would have had to paid thousands for and it was the making of Boris. Heat, kitchen springs to mind.
I thought that thing with the egg quite funny, zebo, they wouldn't put Rooney on egg even though it was the kids name in case it infringed Shreks copyright but they happily added Scholes name.Didn't his copyright matter?
Freedom of speech " My @rse", I wonder what would happen if I stood on street corner or any street if it comes to that & preach hatred to the whites?

I wonder what would happen if I played the White Race card if someone offended me, I will give you an Example, a local Mechanic in our town decided to run 5 "WHITE CABS" he was told by the Asian taxi drivers that this was racist! has this dump lost It's identity? Has freedom of speech gone? watch this space??????

Far too many people willing to be offended on behalf of others, far too many people willing to sneak about behind you moaning about you without the cojones to look you in the eye and tell you what they really think, I really can't be r'sed with all of that!
I do think that some people enjoy being offended and the compensation culture has encouraged that but I think it is superficial. Deep down, people in this country still display stoicism when the sh1t hits the fan. That spirit is still displayed when there is a disaster. So my answer to your question would be No.

My son enjoys being offended. It's tiresome!
