If the link in the OP had been to the Daily Mail, I would have assumed it was the Mail portraying a respected feminist as some nutter with a chip on her shoulder having a rant.
As it's the BBC, I have to assume that she's just some nutter with a chip on her shoulder having a rant.
I dislike TTT's views pretty much always, but come on people, I get the joke.
Have any of you BEEN on the internet?
she is not looking at India, Pakistan, Saudi, crikey where has she been all this time, sexism still exists here, however we don't generally do fgm, honour killings, marrying the kids off to dirty old men, unless you happen to be from a culture that permits it of course.
well she may be overstating the case but i can't see where its funny?
good points on some of the comments attached to the link, that the same can be said of men, portrayal in the media can be just as sexist.
she was denied access to a holding centre, for women being held for deportation, how is that going to be of use, seeing these women, are they being sexually abused, harassed, is that what she could be suggesting
i do find her comments rather odd, what kind of research has she done, what sources she did access and to be quite truthful shouldn't she be looking rather more close to home
I'll get the rope, now where's that sink TTT ;-)

Seriously though, this woman needs to get a life. It's comments like this that really dont help 'the cause'.

Thins tlike this aer not goign to change overnight, look hard enough and you will find instances for many decades to come, but over time attitudes and culture (well some, not those stuck in the 15C) change.

Perhaps that is what she is getting at, we have been invaded by so many people with a culture of oppression of females that she thinks its the norm in the UK.

So maybe it is understandable why she says this.

you may have a point there YMB, I mean when we become Britainistan I imagine that women will get a far worse deal!
TTT

Are you sure it's not a typo, and she actually said, "sexiest"?
Question Author
I'm prepared to retract if that is the case SP!
It is not only women who are abused.

Women's violence against men is also regularly portrayed in films and on TV, but these instances of slaps across the face, a knee in groin or a drink thrown in the face, are generally acts to cause amusement and joy amongst the viewers.

Then it would have been some ABer with a chip on their shoulder having just another regular rant against the Daily Mail.

But that's what they do AOG. Only a fool would think otherwise.
