Do we always think that other people's lives are more interesting?

Someone said I had an interesting life this morning, when I posted a thread about going to a gig.

I think that the people with interesting lives are people with families, and children, etc.

I wonder if it's like a "grass is greener" thing, and we always think that other people's lives are interesting?

Ludwig, you're on a roll!
now that was good if a little late
might be late, but I likes it Ludwig.

I sometimes wonder what my life would be like without Mr Alba and the young albas. I like my life with them, we're all skint, but we do nark at each other and laugh at and with each other.
I go to what I call, concerts:-

a musical performance given in public, typically by several performers or of several compositions.

I'd call that karaoke Tills
:-) So would I, sloopy.
I'm not jealous of anyone else's lives, I like my own. Many people feel that family life can be fairly humdrum - other people feel that it's sad not to have a family. Each to our own - if I envied someone else's lifestyle, I'd try to do something about it.
they were called concerts in the days when I went to them too, Tilly. I remember going to a Rolling Stones concert when young.

'Gig' is a musicians' word, meaning a job. Concert I think describes the experience from the audience's point of view.
My life is pretty humdrum but we do seem to have had quite big dramas on a regular basis over the last seven or eight years - if something goes wrong it is quite major, if something goes well it is better than average. I think some people might have lost the plot if they had our lives (although, bizarrely, the good outweigh the bad).
I like my life, I love my hubby (who can be the most major pain in the pharynx)
love my sproglets, I'm considering going bankrupt but can't afford it (ironic)
have a sick sense of humour which helps me.

life isn't greener on my side of the fence but I'm quite content to be here though.
Thank you, jno.

The last concert I went to was at Wembley Stadium to see Roger Waters -The Wall. That was last September.

Wembley Stadium is definitely a "concert"

Brighton Concorde2 or the Camden Roundhouse is a "gig"
