We were on holiday there last autumn but cannot recall having seen any while we were there. We live on the Hampshire\Berkshire border and have a number of them flying around localy, so it may be that they haven't got that far East yet awhiles.
I doubt very much that red kites will gain a foothold in Norfolk/Suffolk due to gamekeepers persecuting birds of prey. They even have royalty on their side, Prince Harry was in the vicinity when a hen harrier was shot on the Sandringham estate.
We have kites in North Bedfordshire.
We only get them as passage migrants in South Yorks & North Derbys. For reasons I've given above.
I see them occasionally, always a great experience to watch them soaring!
Those released from the reintroduction project at Harewood House just outside Leeds are doing very well and have spread out into the Yorkshire Dales but they still get persecuted there. Old habits die hard with some of these gamekeepers.
