Still can not get rid of AVG appearing as my home page even though I have done the tools / options and set Google as my preferred home page. When I turn off and restart AVG appears again !!
Any more thought please

Have you identified which browser you are using anywhere, David? Might be helpful to aid people in offering more targeted advice...

Please say what Browser you have along with the Operating System(Windows Vista , W7 or whatever)

if you are using the free edition of avg , upon instalation it tries to load its own browser bar . solution uninstall and reinstall and be careful what you allow
