smouse - Marmalynne and I answer multiple quiz and crossword queries. Invariably she beats me by a fraction of a second with the answer. But I certainly do not take the time to check whether I should or should not answer because a setter has said so. I needed to reply to you but am sorry it has 'hijacked' quizzkid's thread.

chorley9 - yes we know you are not a he. You corrected the Editor at the time.

But you still persist on ignoring the Editor's advice.

Interesting you publish the quote re ignoring Chorley, yet you pounce every time you see her name.


I rarely answer quiz questions, or if I do it is because I have mistaken it for a crossword answer - have tried giving extra clues too, that rarely works either.

I disagree Tilly - you answered fair and square and therefore deserve recognition.

I for one never blame those who answer, as said this is a Q&A site - the debate is about more than that.

Can I just say I try to abide by the rules of the quiz setter but sometimes I get myself backed into a corner with a quiz and cannot see the daylight. I have searched and searched with this quiz and I am totally stuck as to where to look next, however, this is a question and answer site and if somebody needs help and I am able to give it I will. I am always grateful to Abers for helping me. I have said it before and I say it again, those people who say it spoils their enjoyment of a quiz do not have to look at the answers given to questions. Sorry if this upsets people but that is the way I feel.

I also ask for help on AB on occasions, but I do feel that if the quiz setter says no asking, us quizzers should do as we are asked.
